These two photos are of a cast and run in place moulding. It is the same profile for both
mouldings. The contractor supplied the cast mouldings in this case. The straight pieces on top of the column are cast plaster. The wall leading up to the column area is radius in
form. It was part of a radius staircase opening. On the radius wall we ran the same
moulding in place to meet the column, We usually elect to run mouldings in place on
radius surfaces. It is rare that cast mouldings can be used on radius walls and fit the shape
exactly. When run in place the moulding fits the space exactly. The second photo is a
better shot of the full column top with the cast moulding.
