Plastering and hard work must be in your roots. I hear this phrase often from my clients and colleagues. My family’s professions were based in the design and construction fields, which intrigued me when I was young. My grandfather was a brick mason from Italy. The skills he brought from Europe were ever-present. When I watched him do his magic, creating something from nothing, it amazed me. Grandpa worked outside in unfavorable weather, however the job was always finished on time and done the right way! He instilled those traits in me, which I still carry today. Whether I’m creating, restoring, or repairing a plaster moulding, I make sure it’s always finished on time and done the right way!
I have been plastering for 40+ years and I still love waking up to it. Making plaster mouldings gives me an outlet to creativity, which I enjoy. Restoring an old or damaged moulding to their original state, is extremely rewarding to me. I enjoy other creative projects, such as plastering fireplaces, staircases, and ornamental mouldings. Plastering has given me the opportunity to work in some very prestigious homes and institutions.
